Update: We feel so blessed by your kindness....

Hi everyone!

Mark and Mary along with Andrew, Brian and Chris are so grateful for the outpouring of support they have received from so many family and friends! They are truly touched by the love and kindness that has been shown to them!

As you can imagine, Mark is pretty tired from the surgery and all the activity. For the next couple of days Mark and Mary would like to limit visitors at the hospital to give Mark a chance to rest up and assist his recovery. Mark might be home as soon as Monday and it will be a lot easier for him to see visitors there. We’ll keep you posted.

Many have asked about sending flowers. Mark has asked that if you wanted to send something to consider a donation in lieu of flowers to either:

Fairport Challenger Baseball
c/o Ken Minor
36 Shannon Glenn
Fairport, NY 14450

OR

Matt Talbot Ministries.
514 Oxford St.
Rochester, NY 14607

OR

The Perl Foundation. (Computer Software Programming Language)
6832 Mulderstraat
Grand Ledge, MI 48837

The thoughts and prayers are making a difference. Please keep them coming. Mark, Mary, Andrew, Brian and Chris feel truly blessed and are so thankful for your love and support!

  3. Chris,

Your Mom and Dad were both students of mine at Fisher. Two of my best ever. Two of my all-time favorites. They have stayed in my life ever since to some extent. I am truly honored by their involvement and the rewards they have given to me as people, as friends, as students.

Let your Dad know that I am pulling for him with every ounce of passion in my heart and soul. They just don't make finer people than Mark.

Sending all the love I can muster and all the positive energy and good vibes I can find, I am . . .

  4. Hi Everyone,

I am sitting here in my "customized hospital bed" compliments of John & Lauren Doyle (Deluxe 3" memory-foam mattress with 500 thread count sheets) I am the envy of the hospital!

I am so truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends that are out there praying for me.

It has been a wild 5 days. I can't believe I checked into the hospital at 11am Sunday and it is now Friday evening. I just wanted you to know that the surgery went very well and that am recovering quickly.

STRONG MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AND ALL THE PEOPLE THAT WORK HERE ARE FANTASTIC! From the people that clean the rooms, the patient transporters, nurses, doctors and therapists have have all made me feel like I am surrounded by a caring a nurturing family.

Thanks for all of your prayers and support over the past few days. The blog that my son Chris set up with the assistance of John Doyle, & Doug Hitchcock is a wonderful forum we can all utilize to talk to each other and share information.

At this point please continue to keep me and my family in your prayers and I will let you know when I regain my strength and am up for visitors at my home.

    Love,

    Mark

  5. Mark, thank you for the note, you are truly an amazing person. Dan and I have been sitting here at the computer laughing this morning at the pictures of the hospital staff and your room -- only you!

Dan mentioned to me that when he went to the hospital the other day the gentleman at the reception desk blurted out your room number, without even looking down. He continued to say "this guy must be pretty special as he has a visitor every few minutes". Well, we've always said that you should be the "Mayor", but now we know that the Mayor can't hold a candle to your popularity.

We love you and are thinking about you every single second of the day. I look forward to you feeling better and us getting together for another wine party and having some laughs ... real soon!

If there is ever anything at all either Dan or I could do for your or your family -- we're there!!!

    Love ya to pieces ...
